Race Horses
An essential part of the job is the routine checking of horses’ feet to establish an organised shoeing cycle that takes into account training and racing. This also allows for regular monitoring of horses with known foot issues such that problems can be managed as effectively as possible. Furthermore, it is important to notice and understand the impact of different environments and training techniques on feet, and Lances experience has equipped him with the knowledge and skills to accommodate these factors when needed.
Sports and pleasure horses
Once an initial consultation has take place, Lance will calendar a regular appointment interval that is tailored to the individual shoeing requirement of that particular horse. This will also take into account any competition schedule. Lance can also offer input into daily hoof care regimes to improve and optimise hoof health.
Podiatry and remedial work
Lance is available for any meetings or collaborations with vets if needed, and can manufacture remedial shoes as required or advised. He is also able to attend yard trot ups to provide additional assistance and input if requested.
